2010 Annual Calendar Contest

The Youth Partnership hosted it's 19th annual Calendar Contest Ceremony on Wednesday, January 13th from 6:00-7:30pm at the JFK Library, Joseph Room. With permission from Vallejo City Unified School District, YP annually requests artwork submissions from Vallejo K-12 students that will creatively demonstrate a substance-use prevention theme as selected by YP students. The 2010 calendar theme is "Smoking Hurts More Than Just Your Lungs".
The ceremony recognized the 12 winning student artists and unveiled Fighting back Partnership's 2010 youth substance-use-prevention calendar. Felicia Flores-Workman, Project Director of Solano County Health and Social Services, Tobacco Prevention and Education Program; and Michelle Bedolla, a YP Intern and student at MIT Academy, spoke about the importance of preventing tobacco use among youth.
