On Saturday, July 10th, 2010, Fighting Back Partnership Staff and over sixty residents and twenty-five volunteers came together as a community to clean up the North Vallejo Neighborhood of California Meadows.

Beginning at 7:00 in the morning with the drop off of the first dumpster, neighbors began sorting and loading garbage from their yards and the yards of their neighbors. Each dumpster is capable of holding approximately 3,000lbs of garbage and debris. On this Saturday TEN dumpsters were utilized and filled in four hours! Additionally, Vallejo Recology provided us with a dumpster for yard waste. After the cleanup, residents and volunteers sat down to a potluck lunch of Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, two different kinds of Lumpia, Chicken Adobo, Rice, Barbequed Chicken and Ribs and Desserts.

These groups of residents are already planning a National Night Out Against Crime Event for August 3rd, 2010.
