Synergy - Youth Partnership - Solano Mentor Collaborative

 

Synergy
Synergy is a grass roots coalition of community leaders and representatives concerned about and committed to addressing critical health issues for Vallejo's youth.

The group has ethnically diverse and broad-based representation from:

  • Health
  • Schools
  • Youth Development
  • Faith-Based Community
  • Parents & Youth


 

Youth Partnership
Youth Partnership works to reduce drug use among youth and promote advocacy through events such as the a Youth Town Hall Meeting A Youth Candidates Night Forum, as well as participate in city-wide youth initiatives. Currently, they are conducting "Safe Zone" inspections to ensure local outlets are observing laws and providing a safe, alchol-free area for youth.

 

 

Solano Mentor Collaborative
The mission of the Solano Mentor Collaborative is to carry out a strategy to strengthen local mentoring programs, which includes increasing the number of adult mentors, and to offer our communities' youth a means to make positive choices.

Five Easy Steps to Becoming a Mentor:


1) Call (707) 648-5230 and ask for Mentoring
2) Fill out the application that you will receive in the mail.
3) Come to a screening interview. This will include fingerprinting and a background check.
4) Attend an orientation and training session.
5) Pick a mentoring program that fits your skills and interests.
